Abstract:

Adolescent Idiopathic Scoliosis (AIS) is a common three-dimensional spinal deformity. Bracing therapy is its primary conservative treatment method, but its efficacy is highly dependent on patients' wear compliance, precise application of orthotic forces, and long-term rehabilitation management. Traditional braces have limitations such as poor comfort, lack of real-time monitoring, and subjective compliance assessment. In recent years, with the rapid development of sensor technology, flexible electronics, the Internet of Things (IoT), and artificial intelligence (AI), wearable devices have provided new solutions for the monitoring, assessment, and intervention of AIS. This paper systematically reviews the current application status of wearable devices in the AIS field, covering core areas such as smart brace systems, sensor integration technologies, compliance monitoring, biofeedback training, and telemedicine platforms, and analyzes the current technical challenges and clinical translation bottlenecks.
