Recent Progresses on Osteoporotic Refractures in the Elderly

Abstract

Abstract: Osteoporosis is a prevalent disease in the elderly. It has become a prominent public health problem in China with rapid population aging. Fracture is the most serious outcome of osteoporosis. Elderly patients with osteoporotic fractures are prone to recurrent fractures，which are major barriers to healthy aging due to induced difficulty in functional recovery，reduced quality of life and increased morbidity and mortality. The purpose of this review is to systematically examine recent literature regarding the risk factors，risk assessment and intervention for recurrence of osteoporotic fractures in the elderly，providing a basis for developing strategies for osteoporotic refractures in this group.

摘要： 骨质疏松症在老年人中普遍存在，随着我国人口老龄化的加剧，骨质疏松症成为我国突出的公共卫生问题之一。骨折是骨质疏松症的最严重后果，老年骨质疏松性骨折易再发骨折。再发骨折会造成老年人功能恢复困难、生活质量下降、致残率与死亡率增加，已成为阻滞健康老龄化进程的主要问题。本文从老年骨质疏松性骨折再发的危险因素、风险识别、干预等方面进行综述，以有效指导临床医护人员制定再发骨折预防方案，减少再发骨折的发生。
