Reliability and Validity of Arthritis Self-efficacy Scale-8 in Application of Patients with Rheumatoid Arthritis

Abstract

Abstract: Objective　To translate and evaluate reliability and validity of the arthritis self-efficacy scale-8（ASES-8）when applied to patients with rheumatoid arthritis（RA）.Methods　A total of 101 RA patients treated in the Department of Rheumatism and Immunology of Tianjin Medical University General Hospital from September to December 2015 were selected as the subjects through convenience sampling method.ASES-8 was translated and revised to generate a Chinese version of ASES-8.Investigations were performed on the patients.Item analysis，exploratory factor analysis，and correlation analytical methods were used to evaluate the reliability and validity of the Chinese version of ASES-8.Results　Item analysis showed that the Chinese version of ASES-8 could discriminate the high score group from the low score group.The correlation index of item-item and item-total scores ranged from 0.338 to 0.952.Based on the analysis of main components，one common factor was extracted.The factor loading was equal or greater than 0.652 and cumulative variance proportion of the factor was 66.24%，thereby indicating good construct validity.The Chinese version of ASES-8 was positively correlated with scores of SF-36 physiological function（r=0.529，P<0.01）and FACIT-F（r=0.660，P<0.01）and negatively correlated to the scores of HADS-depression（r=-0.625，P<0.01），HADS-anxiety（r=-0.612，P<0.01），and pain-VAS（r=-0.610，P<0.01）.The internal consistency of the Chinese version of ASES-8 Cronbach’s α coefficient was 0.920.The coefficient ranged from 0.897 to 0.926 when one item was deleted，and the reevaluated reliability was 0.986.Conclusion　The Chinese version of ASES-8 has high validity and reliability.It is a reliable evaluation tool for future intervention studies on self-efficacy improvement.

摘要： 目的　翻译并评价关节炎自我效能感量表-8（ASES-8）在类风湿关节炎（RA）患者中应用的信效度。方法　于2015年9—12月，采用便利抽样法选取天津医科大学总医院风湿免疫科住院部RA患者101例，对ASES-8进行翻译、修订，形成中文版ASES-8，对患者进行调查，采用项目分析、探索性因子分析及相关分析评价中文版ASES-8的信效度。结果　项目分析显示中文版ASES-8能够鉴别高分组与低分组，条目-条目及条目-总分之间的相关系数范围为0.338～0.952。经主成分分析，共提取1个共同因子，各条目因子负荷≥0.652，累计方差贡献率为66.24%，结构效度良好。中文版ASES-8与健康调查简表（SF-36）生理功能（r=0.529，P<0.01）、慢性病治疗功能评估-疲劳量表（FACIT-F）（r=0.660，P<0.01）得分呈正相关，与医院焦虑抑郁量表（HADS）-抑郁（r=-0.625，P<0.01）、HADS-焦虑（r=-0.612，P<0.01）、疼痛视觉模拟量表（VAS）（r=-0.610，P<0.01）得分呈负相关。中文版ASES-8总体内部一致性Cronbach’s α系数为0.920，删除某项后总体Cronbach’s α系数波动范围为0.897～0.926，重测信度为0.986。结论　中文版ASES-8具有良好的信度和效度，为今后以提高自我效能为目的的干预性研究提供了有效的评估工具。
