A letter to foreign craft brother

Dear craft brother

I would like to briefly introduce our journal. Journal of Chinese General Practice is administered

by the Chinese Ministry of Health and is the first and only academic periodical in the field of general

medicine in China. Since it was first published in 1998, the journal has genuinely reflected the

development process of general medicine in China and published many related papers concerning the

research of theory and policy study and updated tendency of general medicine application and

activities in clinical practice and community health services. China is currently during a crucial stage

of hygienic and health service system reform and the Chinese government is greatly advocating the

popularization of general medicine and community health service system. The objective of Journal of

Chinese General Practice is to try to explore a suitable way in the respect of both theory guidance

and practical experiences to assist the health system reform in China and ultimately promote the

development of general medicine in China by constructing corresponding academic atmosphere and

gradually complementing the structure of the discipline. These work have great impact on the

development of health care of 1.2 billion Chinese people and also on the health and human

development of the world.
