Notice to contributors of Journal of Chinese General Practice
Journal of Chinese General Practice was approved by National Committee of Science and
Technology and administered by the Ministry of Health. It was the first academic publication in the
field of general medicine in China and is published semimonthly. The number of standard continual
publication of Journal of Chinese General Practice is ISSN 1007-9572，CN 13-1222/R and the code
number for post is 80-258. The objective of this publication is to study the present situation, the
characteristic and the tendency of development of general medicine in China, to discuss the clinical
research and clinical experience of general medicine and to popularize the theory and knowledge of
general medicine in China. The readership of Journal of Chinese General Practice is medical personne
l in hospitals, people engaged in the research and teaching of General Medicine and community
medical personnel.
1. The columns of Journal of Chinese General Practice include: review, expert forum, special
subject discussion, treatise, original research, policy research, education and training of general
medicine, work research of general medicine, research and information exchanges of community
health service, society-behavior-mentality, health management of specially-defined people,
intervention management of chronic diseases, study and research, nursing and rehabilitation,
prescription of first diagnosis and treatment project, approaches and techniques of diagnose and
treatment, consultation and transfer treatment, clinical case discussion, clinical guidebook,
medication guide, emergency and first aid, analysis and suggestion of clinical misdiagnosis,
development of general medical doctors’ comprehensive ability, Chinese medicine·integrated
traditional and western medicine, knowledge window of general medical doctors etc.
2. The requirements to contributions:
(1) The manuscript: the manuscript should be academic, useful and have explicit contentions.
The information should be credible, the composition be refined, the order be clear, the data be
accurate, the writing be standard and the data be statistically treated when it is necessary.
(2) The topic: the topic should be simple, appealing and reflect the subject of the article.
(3) The author: the author's name should be arranged in sequence under the topic, the
sequence should be decided before contributing and shouldn't be changed during the editorial
process. The author's unit name and its postal code should be noted at the lower left of the same
page.
(4) The abstract: the article should attach a formulated abstract both in Chinese and English,
including the purpose, the method, the result (including main data) and the conclusion, and should
be composed in third person, do not use "this text", "author" etc. The abstract in Chinese should be
confined to about 200 words, and the abstract in English to about 400 solid phrases (Attention: the
abstract in English should be revised by professional personnel).
(5) The key words: the article should index 2-5 keywords. The abbreviation phrases of the
keywords should be returned to original state for full title according to MeSH.
(6) Medical words: medical words should be used according to the Medical Words approved
officially by National Natural Science Words Committee since 1989 and afterwards, and the standard
words in other related subjects. The names of drugs should be referred to the legal medicine names
in the Pharmacopoeia of the 1995 or the medicine names in the Medicine Names approved by the
Pharmacopoeia Committee of the Ministry of Health. The medicine names in English should adopt
internationally not-patented medicine names. Do not use merchandise name.
(7) The charts: each chart should have an illustration, which should be placed under the chart.
Three-horizontal-line form (crest line, form head line, bottom line) should be used in this publication.
When it is needed to add up or statistically treated (such as the t value, the P value etc.), a
boundary horizontal line should be added upon this line. The data of the same parameter in the chart
should have same significant digit, generally the number of the significant digits should be
determined based on 1/3 of the standard deviation.
(8)The abbreviation phrases: the abbreviation phrases should be used as little as possible.
While the abbreviation is necessary, the full title should be introduced when first appears in the
paper, and the abbreviation should be kept on the same line.
(9) The reference: the reference should be scheduled according to the Regulations of the
Reference of GB7714-87, and the Arabic numeral of the reference should be added square bracket
according to its sequence of appearance in the text.
(10) The drafts that are attained prize or funded: if the topic related to the draft was funded
by national fund or by ministry and provincial fund or was key projects, the introduction should be
noted at lower left of the topic page, such as "the topic was funded by ×× fund (the number is
××××)", and the copy of the fund certificate should be attached. This publication has "green
passage" for scientific research foundation project.
(11) The form of contribution: the contribution should be sent through E- mail or by soft disk,
and the document should be saved in text form.
(12) The contribution should be attached a letter of recommendation from author’s work unit.
The letter of recommendation should include a appraisal opinion and a statement that should include
the following information such as non repeatable contribution, not involving secrecy, and non
disputed signature and so on.
(13) According to the Copyright Law, together with the instance of this publication, the author
who wants to contribute to other publication in 2 months after receiving the receipt from the Journal
should contact us. Be sure not to repeat contribution. If the author who has received the receipt for
4 months did not receive the appraisal opinion, he can contribute to other publication. The
contribution will not be returned, please save the original draft.
(15) The author should be responsible for the contribution. According to the Copyright Law, we
can amend and delete the contribution. If the modification about the content is related to the
changes of the original intention, we will suggest the author to consider the changes. If the revised
manuscript is not returned within 3 months, we will presume that the author withdraw the
contribution.
